Canonical Ltd, the commercial sponsor of Ubuntu, today announced it has signed an agreement with NT+C Network Training and Consulting Südwest GmbH, to deliver 'Ubuntu Certified Professional' (UCP) training in Germany.
NT+C will deliver official courses across Germany from May 2007. Two five day courses, Ubuntu Professional Courses 1 & 2, will assist System Administrators to pass the required LPI 101, LPI 102 and the Ubuntu 199 exams, and achieve the Ubuntu Certified Professional certification. These courses are the first in a series of classroom and e-learning courses scheduled for launch throughout 2007.
“We continue to see an increasing demand from businesses for an IT certification which demonstrates an individual's Ubuntu skills. As such, training is a crucial step to further increasing the deployment of Ubuntu as an enterprise product on both servers and desktops,” commented Chris Kenyon, Business Development Director at Canonical. “We are delighted to have NT+C Südwest GmbH on board as our training partner. They were chosen due to their strong reputation for teaching excellence, wide geographic coverage and their impressive ideas for promoting Ubuntu training in Germany.”
“We are extremely proud to have been selected by Canonical as their training partner in Germany, and will do our utmost to yield a highly successful cooperation”, commented Michael Ziefle, CEO at NT+C Südwest GmbH.
“The uptake of Linux in Germany has increased dramatically over the past two years. Canonical produces the fastest growing and most popular Linux distribution, partnering with them is of great importance not only to us, but to German businesses,” added Hugo Schröer, CEO at NT+C Südwest GmbH.
The first Ubuntu Professional course will open in Stuttgart on 21st May and will run for five days.
