on 4 February 2019

This article was last updated 5 years ago.

Event Details:

  • Date: February 26 – 28, 2019
  • Location: Nuremberg, Germany
  • Venue: Messe
  • Stand: 4-660

Canonical is excited to return to one of the leading events in the IoT calendar – Embedded World in Nuremberg, Germany.

At Embedded World we will be demonstrating how organisations can bring their IoT solutions to market quicker using snaps and Ubuntu Core 18. You can find us in Hall 4, stand 660.

On the booth, you will see a wide range of devices shipping with classic Ubuntu or Ubuntu Core. Canonical’s IoT experience spans networking, robotics, industrial, automotive and digital signage. During the event we will demonstrate how companies such as Rigado gained a head start by leveraging Ubuntu Core to bring their edge gateways to market.

Canonical will demonstrate how white-labelled IoT app stores can deploy and manage software for fleets of devices, through private channels, with advanced security architecture, hardware access control and third party application permissions.

Loic Minier, head of IoT Field Engineering at Canonical, will be discussing this, and more, during his talk, ‘New Development Paradigms for Smart IoT‘ on the 27th at 5pm local time.

The Canonical team will also showcase AI/ML applications on edge devices, to implement face or object recognition with hardware acceleration, allowing you to quickly implement advanced software stacks on low powered IoT devices.

And since modern IoT applications typically span from the edge to cloud, we will demonstrate container and Lambda runtimes such as Greengrass and others.

Finally, come and speak to the engineers who implemented an Ubuntu port on a new SoC to see a demo application running.
