What is the most secure approach for your environment?
The nature of the security landscape itself makes it impossible to be completely prepared for the new threats coming in. The number and the diversity of attacks keep on increasing, which pose the question: do you really need immediacy to have a secure environment? Focusing on the short term negatively impacts the long term, and companies need to shift their approach to be more secure. In this article, Nikos Mavrogiannopoulos, Product Manager at Canonical, presents the benefits of Extended Security Maintenance (ESM).
Flutter 2.2
Google announced Flutter 2.2, the latest version of their open source UI kit designed to empower developers to easily build experiences across different platforms. This version comes with improved desktop support, null safety by default, improved dashboards to understand how resources are allocated in your apps, as well as improved connectivity with the Google ecosystem like Google pay, etc. Beyond Google, the open source community is contributing to the project as well, and companies like Canonical are all working to bring Flutter to even more devices.

The future of Desktop and the Linux community
If you are part of the Linux community, chances are you already thought of the many pros and cons of the desktop conundrum: do you want an easy-to-use kind of experience, with little to no control, or all the control, but a harder time setting everything up so it is just right for you? This article explores the differences between Chrome, Mac, Windows, and Linux desktops, and the future of the desktop in general.
How to connect Ubuntu 21.04 to Active directory
Ubuntu 21.04 came with a couple of enterprise-oriented updates, including native Microsoft Active Directory integration. If you want to try it out for yourself, TechRepublic prepared a tutorial on how to join a new Ubuntu 21.04 instance to an Active Directory domain.
Embedded vision systems
There is a gap between the high-level algorithms and the hardware that make embedded vision systems. When comparing with other fields, like cloud computing, it is obvious that there is a lack of software, tools, libraries, and compilers to actually build applications at the edge.
This article explores how this affects the industry, and what solutions exist to solve this issue.
