Ural Tunaboyu of the Ubuntu Release team (on mailing list, Utkarsh Gupta reports on Ubuntu Discourse) announces the ‘End of Life’ for Ubuntu 25.04. We’re referred to the prior warning wherein Ubuntu 25.04 was released on the 17th of April 2025; it had a good nine months of supported life which has now ended. The effects of EOL, and a link for release-upgrading to Ubuntu 25.10, and more are provided.

A new Ubuntu wiki, Part 2: Features
Shane Crowley updates us on the new Ubuntu Wiki project. This post discusses the wiki engine choice, Ubuntu theming and some features that have been tested. A call for feedback, for example features wanted, is made so that ideas can be factored into the planning and testing. Ubuntu Server Gazette – Issue 11 – AI-bots shall eat my docs…
Sally Makin starts with her telling us how she lost time trying to use AI to help create a title. She gives thanks to a colleague and the Server team who helped her with this post. This post discusses various large language models (LLM) in regards to their use with documentation. We’re given details and comparisons, including times in this somewhat extensive study. Numerous pitfalls are mentioned; Sally concludes that using AI is mostly in the setup, with payments often appearing in the back end.

Linux User Space: Wayland Is the Future of Linux, Even KDE Plasma Agrees
“The KDE team has announced that X11 will soon (2027) be unsupported on Plasma and become Wayland-only rather than Wayland-first. Steam Deck is already there for the most part with Gamescope, and between normal installs of newer Plasma, Steam Deck, Kubuntu and Bazzite, Plasma is growing by the minute. Wayland is inevitable!”
